About Us
Who We Are
Coven of the Ancient Grove is an Eclectic Pagan coven in Tumwater, WA. Founded in 2015, the coven was dormant from 2022–2025 and relaunched in December 2025, inspired by a desire to rekindle spiritual community. Our members include individuals and families from many pagan and magical paths, coming together to ground their practices in the land and seasonal cycles of the Pacific Northwest.
We celebrate a Solar/Lunar Wheel of the Year with clergy-led Sabbats that honor seasonal energies, foster community, and include ritual and shared potlucks. Full Moon gatherings feature clergy-led shamanic journeying or member-led sharing of personal practices, creating space for each person to honor their own path. We also offer public and member-only workshops to help both our community and the greater public deepen their magical and spiritual practice.
We welcome individuals and families of all paths who wish to engage in ritual, study, and community while honoring their own unique spiritual journey.
Our Vision
Coven of the Ancient Grove is dedicated to spiritual growth, community building, and deepening our relationship with nature and the unseen realms. We align our practices with the turning of the seasons, honoring the rhythms of the Earth, the spirits of place, and the web of life we are part of. We recognize spirit in all things and strive to engage with the land and its beings in a relationship guided by respect, reverence, and reciprocity. Rooted in the living wisdom of Yggdrasil, the World Tree, our coven draws from diverse paths to create shared rituals, study, and spaces for personal reflection and magical practice. In doing so, we nurture both individual transformation and collective spiritual growth. As an eclectic coven, we celebrate the diversity and evolving nature of our members’ paths, creating a shared space where spiritual authenticity, magical practice, and sacred stewardship are nurtured in harmony. We foster a co-creative environment where participation is encouraged, and each voice has a place, welcoming those who seek a meaningful connection with spirit, community, and the sacred Earth.
Spiritual Current
The spiritual current of Coven of the Ancient Grove flows through the roots and branches of Yggdrasil, the World Tree, our sacred totem and anchor in all ritual/ceremony. Yggdrasil stands as the Axis Mundi, the great connector of realms: above, below, and within. It reminds us that we are not separate from the world, but woven into a vast, living web of spirit, land, and mystery.
This current is one of earth-rooted mysticism, shaped by sacred relationship, seasonal rhythm, and the energies of the land we inhabit. It rises from the soil beneath our feet and spirals upward into the unseen, guiding us into communion with the Divine Ones, the Land Wights, the Beloved Dead, and the unfolding cycles of life, death, and rebirth. It is a living current shaped by the place we practice, the spirits who dwell here, and the unique presence of each coven member.
We mark the passage of time through seasonal celebration and attunement, honoring the natural cycles of growth, release, rest, and renewal. These rhythms guide our spiritual work and anchor us in the living pulse of the Earth. Our practice is experiential and intuitive, rooted in direct encounter, deep listening, and the cultivation of sacred presence. We honor the wisdom and intelligence of the four bodies, the land, and spirit.
Rather than follow a single tradition or pantheon, we move in an eclectic but unified flow honoring diverse paths while grounding our practice in shared reverence for nature, honoring of spirit, and a commitment to transformation, personal sovereignty, and the cultivation of sacred relationship. Through ritual, reflection, and communion with spirit, we seek to grow not only as practitioners, but as participants in a sacred, interwoven cosmos.
This is not a current of hierarchy, dogma, or control, but one of connection to community, nature, spirit, self, memory, and the mystery that invites us into deeper becoming.
